Jerry  I suspect that you are misinforming us on some points:

Sugarcane yields sucrose sugar;  this incites microbial tooth decay.
unhealthy
Fruits (most of them) yield fructose sugar;  tastes just as sweet, yet does
not cause tooth decay.
