Hi folks --
Just thought you paleo-activits would be encouraged to hear about a couple
of pieces that have appeared in the "mainstream" media recently.
Monday night, the NBC affiliate here in Dallas (ch. 5) did a story about
the Sugar Busters concept. They quoted some people who clearly laid the
blame for a lot of diseases on high-carb diets. They also quoted some
other nutritionists etc. who criticized the idea, but the story was
reasobnably balanced. They didn't portray the lo-carb concept as some kind
of fad or quackery.
Also, in the Science section of the Dallas Morning News on 7/13 was a
rather long article about how fossil evidence shows that agricultural
people were clearly less healthy than their hunter-gatherer predecessors.
Apparently this is now widely accepted as fact in the archaeological
community. -- I just tried to get into their web site
(www.dallasnews.com) to see if the article is on line, but their server
isn't responding.
We are making progress, folks! Just keep spreading the word.
