With Lent here Holy Communion Sunday is this Sunday, February 7th. The
past few times at church I have not participated in communion. I
explained to my minister the very first time since I knew he would
wonder why I was not participating. Well last night I saw him and he
asked me if there was a rice cake or something that he could have for
me. I told him I had some bread at home and he said to bring a small
piece and he would have that on the alter with the other bread so that I
could participate. Now my question is that at our church we "dip" the
bread and I am wondering if I do this will the "wine" be contaminated.
We use grape juice so I don't have to worry about making sure the wine
is GF. We used to have individual cups (and got tired of washing all of
them), but I'm wondering if I shouldn't still have him have that little
cup for me or if I will be OK with dipping my bread in with everyone
else. I don't think I am REALLY sensitive, but I have been GF for 2
years and don't know if my sensitivity has increased or not. If anyone
can help me I would really appreciate it. I will summarize in case
there are others out there that have been missing communion at church
like I have been! Thanks in advance! Amy in Iowa
