Can anyone give me the benefit of their experience with Emma's
problems digesting milk?  She's been on soy formula since just after
birth, because milk-based formula seemed to make her so fussy.  Now
she's 2, and once in a while we try to introduce a little milk into her
diet.  It causes diarrhea, horrendous diaper rash, and fussiness that
is impressive even for a terrible-2-year-old!  But here's what I don't
understand: it's 100% lactose free milk.

Has anyone else seen this?  Could it be a true allergy, or an
intolerance of something other than lactose? Her doctor sure doesn't
seem very knowledgeable in this area, but she casually suggested it
might be an allergy and we should avoid dairy products.  From reading
this list, I understand that's a major undertaking.  Should Emma see
an allergist?

I'm hoping someone on this list has had a similar experience and can
give me some idea what to do.
