This is to inform you that the African Association of Madison Inc.has been
invited to participate in this Ist Annual event. Parts of the invitation
reads thus:
" Plans for the first annual Celebrate Madison! are under way. The purpose
of Celebrate Madison! is to promote appreciation and understanding of
Madison's diverse populations. The festival will be held on Saturday, June
24, from 11 am to 7: 00pm. Activities will take place in and around the
Madison Civic Center. The event will conclude with a teen dance hosted by
the New Teen Loft Center from 8:00 pm to 11:30pm. Entry to Celebrate
Madison! is free and open to the entire community.
We want Celebrate Madison! to reflect the many cultures and ethnic groups
that make up Madison. It will be an opportunity to inform, educate,
entertain,and appreciate all that our diversity provides."
There are the following:
a) Information booths- To introduce yourself, organisation or services to
the people of Madison.
Fees:- NO SALES-- 6 ft. table/2 chairs-------$25:00
b) ARTS AND CRAFTS VENDORS:
Artists and crafts men in baskets weaving, jewelry making, woodworking ,
kites, South American woolen goods and Batik clothing are needed and invited.
Fees:- 8ft space-----$50:00
10 by 10 ft space---$125:00
c) FOOD/BEVERAGE VENDORS
Ethnic and cultural food sales are encouraged.
Fees:- 10 by 10 ft---$100:00 for Community Organisation-
$200:00 for Locally owned restaurants
$400:00 for Commercial/Franchise
Chairs--$1:00 each
Tables---$7:00 each
Make checks payable to: A Friend of the Madison Civic center along with the
application to Celebrate Madison!, 211 State Street 2R, Madison, WI 53703.
Applications are due by Monday, May 5, in the Civic Center Office at 211
State Street, level 2R, Madison, 53703

CITY OF MADISON LICENSING:
ALL selected vendors MUST complete a City of Madison Special Event Permit (
$6:00). Food vendors must also have a current Temporary Restaurant Permit
or complete a new one ( $45:00). Permits are available from the City's
Clerk Office, Rm 103, City-County Building and must be obtained no later
than June 9.
