We too have seen several bad AMD Chips, everything from 300-400mhz. Before
this year we had never seen a bad CPU. I have a  Compaq right now that
wouldn't even post, turned out to be the CPU.

I own an AMD system personally and love it, however there does seem to be a
problem with some of them.
