That doesn't mean something hardware-wise hasn't cratered since the
upgrade, but I'd try first a clean install of Windows 98 SE. Back up
your data, format the hard drive and do a clean install. If it still
does the reboot problem check the MS Knowledge Base to see if your
particular machine has any known problems with 98 SE. Check the hardware
last, like grounding of motherboard, memory, power supply, etc.. '
The new Norton Utilities 2000 has a diagnostic tester for hardware
and if you're a Norton user this upgrade would be worth a look. Come to
think of it, you might also try Norton Utilities 4.0 or 2000 first on
your machine to see if it can straighten out your problem.
I'm betting it's some corruption that occurred during the upgrade
from 98 to 98 SE.
