ECC is error correcting code. They are usually used in high end systems such
as servers. They are capable of detecting and correcting one-bit errors. Some
ECC, depending on the memory controller, can also detect the unusual two,
three and four bit memory errors. They are more expensive, and the
motherboard must be able to support them.
