First, check the power settings in Control Panel -> Power management.
If this doesn't work, check with the registry editor (regedit.exe) the
key name
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and see if it contains the key 'LoadPowerProfile' with the value
"Rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,LoadCurrentPwrScheme"
