I upgraded the RAM on a server running Netware 3.12 and here's what
happened.
I removed the 32MB in SIMMs that were on the board, and I added two
128MB of PC-100, the voltage is
correct.
The system boots, counts the whole 256MB and proceeds. The SCSI BIOS is
loaded, the hard drive is identified, DOS is loaded, DOS goes through
it's routine (the last two lines on the autoexec.bat are, cd server.312
then server) then this exact message comes up.
Insufficient memory to run Netware 386
(requires at least 3 megabytes of extended memory)
C:\server.312>
And it just sits there.
If I take out the 256MB and install the 32MB it proceeeds and loads
server. the RAM is good, that is not it.
Any suggestions? I know nothing about Novell so please be very precise
with instructions on what to do.
TIA,
Jose
