This is standard on the Triniton Monitors I have seen, which is quite a few.
It is less noticeable and often disappears on colored backgrounds, mostly
visible on white backgrounds. I also have noticed after using them that the
effect seems to disappear and be less noticeable. More of a symptom of eyes
adjusting and accepting this where at first it seems unacceptable. The lack
of glare more than makes up for this effect. The lines are possible the
supports for the tube if I remember correctly, but certainly someone on this
can tell you the exact reason for this, but in conclusion, the retailer is
telling the truth.
