Although I am not specifically eating paleo, I am low carbing. I think most
will agree that there are definitely similarities in the two menus.
Certainly, there is more protein in the two diets than in the ADA
recommended "balanced" diet or
high carb diet.
That being said, I am wondering about the clinical meaning of the fact that
a high protein diet is blamed for causing calcium to leech out of bones AND
that some dentists apparently can instantaneously tell if someone is
low-carbing in that these patient's teeth are so hard to clean.
I have thought that hunter-gatherers were noted for having far superior
skeletal remains than agricultural peoples. Dr.s Eades make the point
specifically in "Protein Power", comparing H-G cultures to the anciet
Egyptians.
Any insights on the above would be greatly appreciated.
