Yep! My mother was at a private hospital for an operation and was given
conserve for her toast one morning. She asked for something sugar free
instead as she is diabetic (heck, marmite would have done at a pinch)
and was presented with a very cute little jar of honey. D-oh.

To top it off, when she said she couldn't eat honey either as it had
sugar in it the orderly insisted that they used only the best organic
honey with no added ingredients so there was no sugar in it. Arrrgh!.

In defence of the poor orderly though, its not her fault. Orderlies in
hospitals are paid not much above the minimum wage and tend to receive
little or not training. My mother quite rightly directed her anger at
the hospital management and sent them a very pithy letter explaining the
possible consequences to her (health wise) and them (litigation) had she
not stuck her ground.
