Regarding:  Last evening, I took a Lactation class at the hospital
        where I will be delivering.  According to the
        instructor, children who are breast-fed do not develop
        milk allergies.  I'm questioning this generalization.

Not in my case with both my boys!  Neither could have dairy.  However, one
of my children was able to nurse for a few years when I was off ALL dairy
products myself.  (I also avoided peanuts, gassy foods etc.)  The other
child nursed up to 7 months.  But nursing certainly did not keep them from
having milk allergies.  :-)
