Dear Deborah,
I have had problems with my gag reflex for fifty years. It gets worse
when I have a cold or when I am stressed out. I can't use mint flavored
tooth.paste because it triggers the reflex. I need food to be cut in very
small pieces because bigger pieces trigger it also. Doing yoga and
feldencrais calm down my nervous system and then eating is easier.
I hope this helps.
