This is one of the most common error messages when installing windows.

It is usually related to the memory manager, but can be caused by problems
with the hard drive buffer and/or driver.

There are about 8-10 articles on this in the MS knowledge base.

When I'm trying to install Windows 98 I get the following error.

Application Error: SUWIN caused a General Protection fault in module
Setupx.dll at 0004:5CCE

I've seen this error before but can't remember if it's a hardware or
software fault.

Can someone put some light on this please?
