tell him to make sure that the bus speed jumber is @100mhz and the
multiplier jumper @4.5. enen if the chip is 400 it should report 450mhz.
most likly he's got the multipl;ier jumper(aka clock ratio) set to 4.0. if
he is 100% sure that the jumper is at 4.5 then it must mean that the
motherboard is not working (i cant think of a situwation when a
motherboard doesn't go beyond 4.5



i really can't help you about your modem problem. but did you make sure
that the "only connect at" box is unchecked. also, does the modem
disconnects when using hyper terminal when connecting to local BBSs. it
maybe a problem with the ISP. i dont know about the states. but here
(SaudiArabia) the ISP in many cases would kick you out because of the
excess load of users (some costomer service)
