In addition, make sure both machines are running the same protocols and that
those protocols are bound to the adapters.

Make sure you have file/print sharing marked.

Then right click on C: drive of either/both machines and click on sharing.
Then click on the "shared as" button.  Click ok.

If you did that to both computers, then each computer should be able to browse
the C: drive of the other computer.  Don't forget to also enable sharing for
the printer.
