I really don't think this is the case. The network protocol will take care
of retrieving the share and the remote file system will have nothing to do
with it. Consider that TCP/IP will allow any machine to view a share on any
other machine. I can see FTP shares for example on a Sun, Unix box,
whatever, from my NT machine...
