>From what little you've told us, I would think that the modem is:
A) not an ISA card, or
B) the slot is VLB or PCI.
I don't think anybody ever produced a 56K modem for an 8 bit ISA slot.
Are you SURE it is an ISA card? Could it possibly be a PCI card? Are
you SURE that the slot you're trying to use is ISA? Could it possibly
be VLB? If so, that could easily explain why the card won't fit as you
describe. Do you have a manual for the motherboard? Please heck on
these things and let us know.
