The controller bios fails to detect this Micropolis drive. When I use
adaptec's onboard scsi utility, the drive's diode light goes on/off when
I press enter on the kb, and it goes on/off again (as it should) when
the utility 'scan' starts. This tells me the drive spins up fine. The
drive makes no abnormal clicks.
Before labeling it a dud, are there other ways of recouping/testing it?
Note: All other aspects, like controller, termination, conflicting ids,
auto spin up, etc. are fine and not the problem.
