Interesting, isn't it? I've also been informed (second
hand undocumented source) that human hunters in
medieval Europe kept the internal organs and
intestines of their prey for their own consumption and
tossed the "meat" to the dogs. Hence the birth of what
we call a sausage. Like I say, this is totally second
hand information, albeit by someone who supposedly did
the research.
