Probably. The best way to tell is to thaw some out and see if there is
any smell. Most foods that have a smell are bad. For instance, if you
buy fresh fish and it smells fishy, it's bad. Same for chicken, etc.
Beef on the other hand has two smells to me. One smell is a "fresh
kill" and the other is "road kill." But fat that has gone rancid will
usually smell sour.
