This is why you must take vitimins and drink tons of water when on a low
carbohydrate diet.
On a Paleo diet with lots of salad and some fruit you probably do not
need the
supliments, but what can they hurt. (in moderation.)

Lyle McDonald, on the lowcarb technical list, has posted studies
that show significant electrolyte loss on ketogenic diets, due to
the diuretic effect of these diets.  Electrolyte loss can cause
muscle cramps, heart rhythm disturbances, and other problems.
Sodium and potassium, and probably magnesium supplementation is
recommended.  Salted nuts provide the sodium, at least.
