Hi all:

My first question to the list was "what tests I should have done, after
being diagnosed by endoscopy and also blood." I got a few responses
about having a thyroid test (already done) and a pneumonia vaccine as
well as having blood work done. When I went to my doctor, for an
unrelated reason, I asked him about the pneumonia vaccine and he
suggested that I get vaccinated. My question is how many of you have
had this vaccine and were there any side effects, etc. My doctor didn't
really explain why I should have it, but he did say he gives it to some
of his patients and my condition warrants it. I am having it done in
March, 1999.

My second question is how often should the doctors do blood work. Mine
has was okay a year ago so my doctor said he would test it yearly.

Third question: I've noticed from the postings that there are many
support groups, but none locally. Are there any other celiacs on the
list who live in Fresno, California or close by. I have found out
information about support groups in other towns, which are a couple
hours away, but would like to find a local support group. Any
suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for all your
support. This list is great. I look forward to all the e-mails every
morning when I get to work. Before finding this list I felt very much
alone and kind of an outcast, but after corresponding with other
celiacs, I feel much better.
