Hello To all,
This is the first time I have posted to the list. I have
really learned a lot from this list and appreciate everybody. I have a
problem that I need help with. I have had ear problems all of my life.
A month ago I went in to have a new ear tube put in, as I was going to
fly and needed that ear to work correctly.( I had previously had a
mastoidectomy on that ear, so pressurization must be right when I fly.)
Anyhow, when I had ear tubes put in before, I was not on the G.F. diet
and did not have any complications. This time I had been on the diet
for about 2 months. After getting this ear tube put in, I immediately
started having trouble. I have found since going on the diet that I
have many sensitivities to things I hadn't before I started the diet. I
now cannot hear and fluid has rapidly thickened up in my ear! I am now
wondering if the medication used in putting in the ear tube was not
G.F. The medicine used is called Tricaine, a numbing agent. The doctor
also gave me ear drops to put in afterwards called Floxin. Does anyone
know the G.F. status of these 2 drugs? I would greatly appreciate any
correspondence about this, as I have to have ear tubes put in again and
need to know ASAP. If this is the underlying cause, I have to find G.F.
drugs to have this procedure done. My doctors here are absolutely no
help.
Thanks, Joan/Kansas
