Hi group!
I've been diagnosed for about a year now with checkups about every six
months, so far. I just got an increase of time between visits, now up to a
year between office visits. Now the question. Doc says he wants a series
of X-rays with contrast medium. He called it a "small bowel series". I
understand this is a fasting procedure, and can take up to 4 hours,
depending on how long it takes the barium contrast medium to pass through
the small intestine. Has anyone else had this done? Does anyone know the
purpose in doing a series of x-rays like this? Is Doc just trying to make a
few bucks on the side? I'll be interested in your responses, and I'll
summarize in a few days. Thanks!
