Hi:

     Just a thought...  If their were bar codes for signs which could be
read with a barcode scanner they wouldn't necessarily have to be located on
the sign itself.  I mean, if the bar codes for all signs were placed at a
uniform level of four feet from the ground a blind person could just go
along with the scanner held at this level in the general area of the signs
until he got audible feedback.
