Harvey,

I have 1 or 2 older generic type setup programs for a 286.
They are freeware. If you like I can send them to you via
an email attachment.

One of them might (or might not) work on your 286. They
are the older type which only handle 64 bytes rather than
the newer 128 byte (or more) CMOS settings.
