Hi,
I have a packardbell Platinum XI, pentium 166mhz, AMI
bios, computer that I was able to download the bios
upgrade for. I have it startup in dos and type in
"A:\FMUP.EXE" as instructed it warns me that the
machine is in "virtual - 86 mode" and it would be
dangerous to flash the bios. It tells me to disable
this mode or close windows. well, i'm in dos and
windows is closed. I cant find anything refering to
"virtual - 86 mode" but, I did disable the virtual
memory in device manager and started back up in dos but
it still said the same thing. what am I doing wrong?
(besides purchasing a packardbell computer!).
Any help is always appreciated,
Thankyou,
Gregg
