I recently overclocked a p200mmx (66mhz @3) to 225mhz (75mhz @3) and ran
into this problem on boot - the system would hang for about 2 minutes while
loading windows. If I pressed ctrl-alt-del and ended task on msgsvr32,
windows would tell me it wasn't responding, kill it, and then proceed with a
boot.
I ended up backing up important stuff (well, actually, just copying
everything important to a neutral directory on the hard drive) and then
deleting /windows and reinstalling. Everything works fine now.
