I have no experience with Quantum, but I have been using
Maxtor drives for years. I also have a fair number of
Fujitsu drives. Seems to me "model" is more important than
make, I can recall particular WD models that my local
distributors warned me had very high defective rates.
I also recommend you buy a 7200 rpm drive even if it means
moving up in size. I am currently buying Maxtor and IBM,
but I have no prejudice against Seagate.
