Hi Charlotte
The auction site Onsale.com at
<http://www.Onsale.com/departments/computers.htm>
has an EISA SCSI card currently on sale for $99.
The URL where this item is listed is
<http://www.Onsale.com/category/Mass_Storage.htm>.
The controller is the second item in the section called
"Controllers & Accessories"...near the bottom of the page.
The following information is from the webpage for this item,
<http://www.Onsale.com/category/inv/00000294/01623299.htm>.
Adaptec 2740A Fast SCSI-2 EISA Adapter (New)
Manufactured by ADAPTEC.
This product is brand new in bulk packaging.
This product has a five year warranty from ADAPTEC
Includes Starship Coupon Book (Discounted Software & Hardware).
AT A GLANCE...
Internal 50 pin SCSI-2 Interface connects to FAST SCSI-2 hard drives
External FAST SCSI-2 Interface connects to FAST SCSI-2 hard drives
EISA Bus Connector
Five year warranty and technical support from Adaptec.
Second day air UPS shipping $9.90, anywhere in the 48 states. Higher
elsewhere.
From my own experience with bulk packaged Adaptec cards, this probably
doesn't include cables. It may or may not include driver disks...but
you can download DOS drivers from
<http://www.adaptec.com/support/overview/aha2740.html> and Win9X has
built in support for this controller.
I have bought dozens of items from Onsale.com during the past three months
and have been very satisfied with their service and their products.
They have 5 of these cards for sale. They've been listed for a few days.
Regards,
Bill
