Hi,
The short answer is it depends. Now for the long answer. Windows 95B
will allow you to make the entire drive 1 partion by using FAT32 (when
fdisk asks, tell it you want support for large HD). If you are running Win
95A or earlier, you will have to split it into 2.1 gig (or smaller)
increments. Now as to how the drives will be lettered. Win95 gives the
primary partition of the first drive (primary master) C:, it then gives the
primary partition of each drive an incremented letter (D, E, F, etc.) it
then goes back and does the same thing for each logical drive. Finally it
does removeable media (such as CD-roms). Ok, now for a real life example
to explain all this. Let's say your current drive has one primary (C:) and
one logical (D:). Now if you make one primary partition on your second
drive and two logical drives, you will get: Bootpartition C:, first
(primary) partition on second drive D:, logical drive on first drive (your
old D:) E:, first logical drive on second drive f:, second logical drive on
second drive G:, CD-Rom drive H:.
Now if you make only logical drives on your second hard drive, the
letters of drive one will remain the same and the partitions on the second
hard drive will be lettered E:-G:, with your CD-rom on H:.

Sorry that this is so long,
Donald Gaither
