  Get into the CMOS config and look for the PnP/PCI setup option.
There should be a choice labelled something like "Update ESCD" or
similar -- on Award BIOSes, it's usually about the third item on that
screen.
  When this item is Enabled (it will reset itself to Disabled after
booting), it forces the startup code to rescan for devices and
rewrite the "DMI pool data" which has apparently become corrupt.  [I
don't understand exactly how this happens, but I've seen it before.]

  If that doesn't fix it, you may have to clear the CMOS (using the
jumper on the motherboard) and re-configure it.
