Maybe YOUR gut. I seem to be able to process raw
carrots just fine. IMHO there is a lot of "diversity"
among humans when it comes to digestion.

Most Native Americans were *very* spiritual when it
came to eating meat. To them the meat was a "gift"
from the animal they hunted as well as their ancestors
and whatever god(s) they worhipped. It was never "just
meat".
I'm sure this attitude was common among other
hunter-gatherers as well.
