Actually the root of the religion-vs-whatever argument
is simply that Agnostic/ashiest/secularists simply
can imagine that any one "really" believes in God.
Isn't is just a game people play? Sort of a nifty
intellectual discussion? Maybe an artifact left over
from Paleo's that couldn't explain the universe
any other way? Arn't all those believers simply
kindof low I.Q.?
On the other hand, people who believe in God figure
that those nasty atheist "really" know that God
lives and are simply trying to cover their sins or
pride, arn't they? Yup, they know deep down inside
that there is a God, don't they? They have been
deluded by Science, right?
Thus you have an intractable difference of
opnion. The only time individuals cross
between the two groups is when they decide to,
not when they are convinced to. Seems that
one needs to decide whether mind dominates,
or spirit (feelings).
The truly happy person is one that integrates
the mental and spiritual aspects of living into
one whole person, and is not blown back and forth
between the two extremes by every new idea
or feeling that comes along each day.
Be unafraid to learn new ideas!
