Oops - someone just pointed out a mistake in my posting: the adult dose of
the syrup would be 2tsp (at 5mg/tsp), not 10 tsp as I had mentioned. Either
my son's was mislabeled or I read it wrong. I just rechecked the Claritin
web site and saw that it is 1mg/ml, not 1mg/5ml as I had thought. The adult
dose is 10mg. That does cut my estimate by 5 to just 2 tsp, which is much
more manageable.
