I suppose this also has something to do with the decline in children and dogs
riding in the back of the PU truck. Some of my most enjoyable drive-in movie
experiences have been with a mattress in the back of the truck and the family
piled in on top. Reminds me one time we lived at a location where we were not
allowed to have a sand pile on the premises so we kept one in the back of the
truck. A portion of our yard was designated for digging, but children,
chickens & dogs will dig anywhere they find interesting.
