I have a non-booting Acer Aspire desktop system(5120LK) I purchased at an
auction "as is." It it a P120(Cyrix) on a proprietary LPX socket 7 MB.
The system appears almost dead--the power supply is good and voltage
regulator(3.3v). the HD was bad. I stripped all externals and installed
good ram and cpu, and connected a good monitor. Video and sound are built
in and it has an onboard speaker(small black plastic cylinder with a hole
in the top). When turned it on I get no video signal, but cpu gets
warm(running I assume), and no beep. When a good keyboard is attached all
3 of its lights stay on(hangs here?).If I connect a floppy, it is not
polled. I see no jumper to disable video. Is there any hope or should I
just keep whatever is good and trash the beast?
Thanks,
Edna Sloan
