Hello All,

I work for a Motorola 2-way radio dealer. Two of the police departments that
we provide radios to have called us with an interference problem. They both
recently had computer networks installed and now they seem to be getting
alot of interference and static on their 2-way radios. I don't know all the
specifics as far as what network cabling was used or where it was routed in
proximity to the radios. What I want to know is, will unshielded twisted
pair cause this kind of interference? Will category 5 cable eliminate it? If
category 5 cable was used, should I look into rerouting the cable farther
away from the radios?

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Dennis Thiel
