Hello everyone,

Yep, I'm one of those new members who has read patiently over the past
six weeks, and I might add, learnt a lot alot alot of stuff. Now I am
about to make a big leap into the world of laptop computers and wanted
some advice from all you gurus.

I would like something pretty powerful. I will be going to University
as a mature age moron next semester so thought laptop would be the best
solution. I am familiar with computers but up to date have not had one
on a personal basis. I have a Pentium mmx 200mhz with 64meg at work so
am used to a pretty zippy machine.

Anyone who feels like shedding some of their knowledge my way would be
helpful. I live in Perth in Western Australia so some brands may not be
available, but who know I could order it over the net.

Thanks for your indulgence.

Gerry Dunne
