It was just my typing.I have just finished reinstalling Windows95
.Your suggestions and  other list members were right on the money.
 I had to run FDISK from the floppy and delete the partition then it
let me format with no problems.I still don't quite understand what the
problem was but it worked.This list is a great internet resource and I
appreciate you all.
