Just to mention a new microsoft undocumented "feature", I used windows
update(win'98) to install the release version of Direct X 6, and it
replaced my 3rd button driver with it's own. I lost the ability to assign
it a function, but it did enable a "intellimouse" type of scrolling in IE4
and outlook express.
