I have taken pysillium fiber for almost 10 years. I went to the
proctologist with a problem and the only suggestion was surgery. I
started taking fiber in the form of raw, unprocessed psyillium and have
been fine ever since. If I stop taking it, the problem comes back.

Pysillium is available in raw, unprocessed form in cannisters for about
$4.00. The more refined kind is a finer powder and this works also, but
now as well. I recommend the other kind. Start with one tablespoon twice
per day, then work up to 2 - 3 tablespoons over several weeks until the
problem goes away. Pysillium also normalizes any mild diarrhea (although
not severe diarrhea) and is IMHO very healthy. There may be some
inhibition of absorption of nutrients so I take it several hours after
eating when my stomach is empty.
