I have the Diamond modem.  It's drivers caused many Win98 crashes.
Got new software from Diamond.  Fixed problems with "DPAL" locking
system.  HOWEVER,  since then I have never been able to connect at
speeds higher than 33.6K.  Previously had enjoyed speeds up to 44K.
