If the above are your settings, you are not using LBA mode. If
your BIOS supports it, you need to press DEL to get into setup
when your computer boots (or however your BIOS provides for
this)--sometime while the memory is counting up. There should be
a menu somewhere in there (sorry can't be more specific without
knowing which BIOS you have) where you can change the hard disk
setting from "NORMAL" (which you presently have indicated to have
yours set for) to "LBA" (logical block addressing), which will
allow your computer to recognize the full size of your hard disk.
Once this is done, FDISK, FORMAT, and the rest should go more
smoothly.
