While this is true for most cards, it is not always the case. I used to
own a Matrox Mystique that would not run one old DOS game I had. In the
manual, there was a notice that due to space limitations in the BIOS on the
card, they had left out support for a few old, little-used VGA video modes,
one of which this game needed.
