you can use all three, but it's a good idea
to get a parallel switch (data switchbox) to hook them up.
 Sometimes printers and scanners don't get along too well.
I just bought a really cheap scanner, (I have a microtek E3 too)
an Artec 6P, to try it out and was pretty impressed.
the scanner cost around $50, but works well.
