I've also had a Zip drive for several years - since just after they came
out.  It has worked fine all that time and I've never had any problems with
any of the disks.  I've heard rumors of the "click-o-death" problem but
never actually known anyone who had it happen to them.  I also remember
warnings about making sure to never power on a drive with a disk in it.
